Artist Statement: When I paint, there’s a lot of improvisation going on. I try to find everything I can all at once in terms of composition, color and texture. I work fairly quickly and then make small refinements over a short period of time.
For my other avenues of creativity, especially design work, it’s the opposite because I tend to plan heavily and execute my ideas during several revision cycles until I’m satisfied. In the end, it’s all simple self expression, and I experience what every artist and designer discovers during times of focus: it is a joy and necessity to make art and to bring order where there are only possibilities.
