






She cannibalized this guy after hanging out with him for a few hours. Look at his undead eyes staring into the abyss as his sunken abdomen hangs lifelessly from a glistening exoskeleton.




The photo below originated from a Nikon D5300, but it’s not any more impressive than the iPhone photos because my kit isn’t really ideal for macro photos at this time. However, it was nice to grab a shot of the infamous ‘fiddleback’ icon which is stamped into this creature and all its iterations.

Later on, I captured a second brown recluse and took a decent shot from the top using a newly acquired diopter lens which brought a lot of detail of the leg segments to light but with a very narrow depth of field.
